June 4 – 8, 1:00 – 4:00 PM

The Art of Chess ~ Offered in conjunction with the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of St. Louis, you will learn the game of chess while designing and creating your own chess set!  A chess instructor from the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of St. Louis will lead daily l-hour chess lessons and games. During the remaining time, you will create clay chess pieces and a wooden board.  All levels welcome. $175

June 11 – 15, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Wheel Throwing ~ Are you ready to get your hands dirty? Patience and a high tolerance for messy hands is a must for learning this fun way to create pottery. You will learn the basic steps for creating bowls and cups on the pottery wheel. Due to the drying time involved, you will have 3 days to learn and practice how to throw pots on the wheel. The last 2 days of class will be spent glazing your pieces.  $175

June 18 – 22, 1:00 – 4:00 PM

Confectionery Creations ~ Explore the world of desserts through the lens of art. Create paintings and sculptures inspired by famous artists and create your own edible art with our friends from Sweetology! Sweetology staff will visit one day during the week and guide you as you learn basic cake decorating techniques including frosting, piping and working with fondant. Everyone will take home his or her own cake.  $175

June 25 – 29, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

DIY Room Décor ~ Give your room a fresh look this summer by creating both decorative and functional pieces for your room. Projects include a decorative mirror, phone holder, pillow and wall art. $165

July 9 – 13, 1:00 – 4:00 PM

Figure Drawing and Painting ~ Learn basic drawing techniques and proportions for depicting a realistic human figure. Create gesture drawings, examine and draw bones, as well as draw and paint the figure from a live clothed model. $165

July 23 – 27, 1:00 – 4:00 PM

Abstraction ~ Dive into the world of abstract art and be inspired by artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Mark Rothko and Paul Klee. Create your own pieces inspired by these artists, as well as create your own abstract work. 2D pieces will be created using a variety of materials including watercolor, acrylics, and pastels. $165

July 30 – August 3, 1:00 – 4:00 PM

Functional Pottery ~ Learn how to create platters, mugs and more using a variety of hand building techniques as well as the pottery wheel.  Due to the drying time involved, you will have 3 days to work with wet clay. The last 2 days of class will be spent glazing your pieces.  $175
