Our Kindergarten through 2nd Grade classes are designed to enable students to focus on a specific subject matter while exploring different mediums. We will teach students basic handling techniques for each material. Students will use newly acquired skills to express their own artistic ideas.



Spring 2018 Art Classes for K-2nd Grades

Parent/Child Wheel Throwing -~ Tuesdays, February 6 – 27, 6:00 – 7:30, $100. Are you ready to get your hands dirty? Join the fun with your child while you get messy! Patience and a high tolerance for messy hands is a must for learning this fun way to create pottery. Students will learn the basic steps for creating bowls and cups on the pottery wheel.

Playing with Paint ~ Thursdays, March 8 - 29, 6:00 – 7:30, $90. In this class, students will play with color and experiment with mixing colors to create secondary colors, as well as tints and shades. Basic color theory will be taught as students will use watercolor tempera and acrylic paint.

Clay Creations Thursdays, April 5 – 26, 5:30 – 7:00, $100.  Students will learn the basics of creating works of art from clay using pinch pots, slabs and coils while creating both realistic and abstract pieces.

Spring into Art ~ Thursdays, May 3 – 24, 6:00-7:30, $90. Come celebrate the Spring by creating paintings, collages and more inspired by nature.

Saturday Workshops ~ $25/each session

Valentine Fun  February 10, 10:00 – 11:30 AM ~   Decorate a picture frame, marble paper and create Valentine's cards during this workshop! 

Fun with Faces March 10, 10:00 – 11:30 AM ~ Using cardboard, paper, found objects and collage techniques, students will create one of a kind portrait!

Printmaking – April 14, 10:00 – 11:30 AM ~ Students will explore the world of print making and  learn how to create monoprints as well as a "linocut" design. 

Playing with Paint – May 12, 10:00 – 11:30 AM ~ Experiment with a variety of painting techniques using watercolor and acrylic paint.  From painting with ice cubes and bubbles to using different types of brushes, students will learn some ordinary and not so ordinary ways to paint!
