Our Kindergarten through 2nd Grade classes are designed to enable students to focus on a specific subject matter while exploring different mediums. We will teach students basic handling techniques for each material. Students will use newly acquired skills to express their own artistic ideas.

 

 

2017 WINTER/SPRING CLASS SCHEDULE

Underwater Adventures in Clay ~ Come explore the world under the ocean as we make clay pieces inspired by majestic sea life and sunken treasures. Students will learn the basic hand building techniques for working with clay as well as the firing and glazing process. Tuesdays, Feb 21 - Apr 4, 6:00 - 7:30, (no class week of Mar 13-17), $13

Spring Break Pokemom Fun 2.0 Workshop! Back by popular demand! Join us for another day of art inspired by your favorite Pokemon characters!  Create a t-shirt featuring a silhouette of your favorite Pokemon! Tuesday, March 14, 1:00 - 2:30 PM, $20

Colorful Collages ~ In this class, students will play with color using a variety of materials while creating mixed media collages.  Shape, balance, space and unity will be taught and discussed throughout the class.  Tuesdays,  Apr 11 - May 16, 6:00 - 7:30 PM, $125

Nature Inspired Pottery ~ Bugs, butterflies and blooms will be the motivation for this class. Students will learn basic hand building techniques while creating unique clay pieces inspired by the nature around them. Natural materials like leaves and sticks will also be incorporated into the pieces.  Thursdays, Apr 13 - May 18, 6:00 - 7:30 PM, $130

Bugs Galore ~ Ants, beetles and crickets, oh my! Using colored pencils and ink, learn how to draw realistic looking bugs! April 1, 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM, $20

Springtime Animals ~ Celebrate spring by learning how to draw rabbits, chicks and ducks! April 8,  9:30 AM - 11:00 AM, $20

Wacky Windsocks ~ Take your art outside! In this workshop, students will create a windsock to hang outside. April 15, 9:30 - 11:00 AM, $20

Luscious Landscapes ~  Using watercolors, students will learn how to create a realistic landscape while learning about foreground, middle ground and background.  April 22, 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM, $20

Meet the Artist John Henry ~ John Henry is known for his large scale, public sculptures. Learn more about his work and then create a maquette inpired by his designs. April 29, 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM, $20
