  Our homeschool classes are designed to enable  students to explore a variety of mediums, while also making connections between the art they are creating and the world history they learn in the academic setting. Students will have the opportunity to explore both 2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional art while learning various techniques for each of the materials they are working with during each session.

 

 

 

FALL 2017 HOMESCHOOL ART CLASSES

Homeschool K - 5th Grades

Clay Creations ~ Thursdays, 11/2-11/30, 1:00-2:30 pm, $90. Students will learn the basics of creating works of art from clay using pinch pots, slabs and coils while creating both realistic and abstract pieces.

Picturesque Places ~ Thursdays, 12/7-12/21, 1:00-2:30 pm, $65. Learn basic drawing techniques for creating both realistic and abstract landscapes. Students view the work of famous artists and travel photographs for inspiration in creating their own landscapes.


Homeschool 6th - 12th Grades

Art of Portraiture ~ Thursdays, 11/2-11/30, 1:00-2:30 pm, $85. Explore the world of portraiture using similar techniques to some of art history’s finest. Students will create both realistic and abstract portraits using tempera paint, watercolors, oil pastels and more!

Wheel Throwing ~ Thursdays, 12/7-12/21, 1:00-2:30 pm, $70.  Are you ready to get your hands dirty? Patience and a high tolerance for messy hands is a must for learning this fun way to create pottery. Students will learn the basic steps for creating bowls and cups on the pottery wheel.

Homeschool K- 5th Grade

Fun with Fabrics ~ Thursdays, January 11 - February 1,  1:00 - 2:30 PM, $90.  Create sock monsters, pillows and scarves using a variety fabrics as well as learning different cutting and sewing techniques!

Clay Creations ~ Thursdays, February 8 - March 1, 1:00 - 2:30 PM, $100.  Students will learn the basics of creating works of art from clay using pinch pots, slabs and coils while creating both realistic and abstract pieces.

Valentine Fun! ~ Tuesday, February 13, 10:00 - 11:30 AM, $25.  Get ready for Valentine's Day by creating cards and other heart themed art projects!

Art from Around the World ~ Thursdays, March 8 – 29, 1:00 - 2:30, $90. Take a trip around the globe as we explore art from around the world. Learn basic characteristics of artwork created in specific regions and then recreate their own interpretation of these works.

Clay Creations ~  Thursdays,  April 5 - 26, 1:00 - 2:30 PM, $100.  Students will learn the basics of creating works of art from clay using pinch pots, slabs and coils while creating both realistic and abstract pieces.

Meet the Masters ~  Thursdays,  May 3 - 24, 1:00 - 2:30 PM, $90. Students will take a walk through history and study some of the most influential artists of all time, including Andy Warhol, Wassily Kandinsky, and Vincent Van Gogh. Students will create drawings and paintings inspired by the artists discussed.

Homeschool 6th - 12th Grade

Painting with Acrylics – Thursdays,  February 8 – March 1, 1:00 – 2:30 PM, $90. Learn a variety of techniques for painting with acrylic paints, including color mixing, color blending and different brush applications. Students will paint a landscape and a still life.

Figurative Sculpture ~ Thursdays, March 8 – 29, 1:00 - 2:30 PM, $100. Learn how to construct a realistic figure out of clay using hand building techniques and carving techniques.

Drawing with Perspective ~ Thursdays,  April 5 – 26, 1:00 – 2:30 PM, $90. Learn how to draw buildings and the interiors of rooms using one point perspective.
