  Our homeschool classes are designed to enable  students to explore a variety of mediums, while also making connections between the art they are creating and the world history they learn in the academic setting. Students will have the opportunity to explore both 2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional art while learning various techniques for each of the materials they are working with during each session.

 

 

 

 

 

2017 WINTER/SPRING CLASS SCHEDULE 

Homeschool K - 5th Grades

Colorful Collages ~ In this class, students will play with color using a variety of materials while creating mixed media collages.  Shape, balance, space and unity will be taught and discussed throughout the class. Tuesdays, Jan 10 - Feb 14, 2:00 - 3:30 PM, $125

Nature Inspired Pottery ~ Bugs, butterflies and blooms will be the motivation for this class. Students will learn basic hand building techniques while creating unique clay pieces inspired by the nature around them. Natural materials like leaves and sticks will also be incorporated into the pieces. Tuesdays, Feb 21 - Apr 4, 2:00 - 3:30 PM (no class week of Mar 13-17), $130

Artsy Animals ~ Students will learn basic drawing and painting techniques while creating realistic and abstract portrayals of several different animals. A variety of materials will be used, including oil pastels, watercolors and tempera paint. Tuesdays, Apr 11 - May 16, 2:00 - 3:30 PM, $125

Homeschool 6th - 12th Grades

Pottery Exploration ~ Get ready to get your hands dirty! Students will squish and squeeze the clay while learning some of the basic hand building techniques. This class is designed to introduce students to clay and encourage children to create unique sculptures. Tuesdays, Jan 10 - Feb 14, 2:00 - 3:30 PM, $130

Mixed Media ~  In this class, students will experiment with a variety of materials. These materials include paper, paints, fabric, plaster, wire and more.  Artwork will range from realistic to abstract, as the focus will be on learning how to work with the variety of material presented. Tuesdays, Feb 21 - Apr 4 2:00 - 3:30 PM (no class week of Mar 13-17), $125

FAMILY WORKSHOP

In the Garden Family Workshop ~ Learn basic hand building techniques while creating art made for the outdoors. From gnomes to flower and vegetable labels, participants will have fun making functional art for your backyard. Basic hand building techniques will be taught throughout the week, and students will have the opportunity to use the pottery wheel for one of their creations.  Tuesdays, Feb 7 – Mar 14, 12:30 – 2:00, $185
