    Our homeschool classes are designed to enable  students to explore a variety of mediums, while also making connections between the art they are creating and the world history they learn in the academic setting. Students will have the opportunity to explore both 2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional art while learning various techniques for each of the materials they are working with during each session

K-5 Grades Mixed Media Madness– Experiment with a variety of art materials including paper, paints, wire and more! Artwork will range from realistic to abstract, as the focus will be on learning how to work with the provided materials. Friday, 11/16 – 12/21 (no class on 11/23), 1:00 – 2:30 PM, $115

6th – 12th Grades Fun with Fibers Create sock monsters, weavings, tie dye shirts and more using a variety of materials while learning different cutting and sewing techniques! Friday, 11/16 – 12/21 (no class on 11/23), 1:00 – 2:30 PM, $115

Winter/Spring 2019 Homeschool Art Classes

K-5th Grades

Clay Creations – Students will learn the basics of creating works of art from clay using pinch pots, slabs and coils while creating both realistic and abstract pieces. Tuesdays, 1/8-2/12, 2:30-4:00 PM, $145

Meet the Masters - Take a walk through the 20th Century and study some of the most influential artists of that time, including Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol, and Henry Moore. Create drawings, paintings and clay sculptures inspired by these artists. Tuesdays, 2/19-4/2, 2:30-4:00 PM, $145  (no classes the week of 3/18-3/22)

IrRESISTable Paintings - Learn a variety of painting techniques that use resist methods - masking off areas using wax (crayons), tape, glue and much more! Tuesdays, 4/9-5/14, 2:30-4:00 PM, $140

6th-12th Grades

Painted Portraits – Learn basic facial proportions to create realistic portraits using both watercolors and acrylics.  Tuesdays, 1/8-2/12, 2:30 – 4:00 PM, $140

4th – 8th Grades Illustrating Stories –Students will use basic drawing techniques to learn how to tell a story through pictures. While focusing on composition and design, students will explore how to communicate an idea through an illustration. Students will work with stories written by other students as part of the Grannie Annie project. At the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to enter their illustration to be considered for publication in the Grannie Annie Family Stories Celebration, Volume 13. Tuesdays, 2/19-4/2, 2:30-4:00 PM, $140

Wheel Throwing-  Are you ready to get your hands dirty? Patience and a high tolerance for messy hands is a must for learning this fun way to create pottery. Students will learn the basic steps for creating bowls and cups on the pottery wheel. Tuesdays, 4/9-5/14, 2:30-4:00 PM, $145
