Our adult classes are designed to meet the needs of the students where they are  ~ from beginner to advanced, our instructors tailor the classes to each participant and their specific goals, while teaching them a variety of skills and techniques.

Pottery with Heather Woodson  ~  This pottery class explores both hand building and wheel throwing techniques for beginners through advanced students. Instructor will determine where you are in the learning process and help guide you through projects of your choice.   Mondays, June 4 - July 9,  6:30 - 9:00 PM, $190 and  Mondays, July 23 - August 27, 6:30 - 9:00 PM, $190

Watercolor Seascapes with Linda Wilmes ~ A class for beginners or more seasoned watercolorists. Class will include still water, crashing waves, and more, concentrating on the effects of the sky on the water, morning, through sunset.  Paint with complimentary colors and see the amazing results, and color combinations achieved when the watercolors combine on the paper. Wednesdays, 9/5- 9/26, 6:30 - 9:00 PM, $130

Landscapes in Acrylics with Linda Wilmes ~  For the beginner as well as established artist.  This versatile and forgiving medium, is a great way to paint.  Class will include painting a simple barn, rocks, boat dock, and more.  Color will be emphasized as well as value, composition, to create good paintings.  Wednesdays, 10/3 - 10/ 24, 6:30 - 9:00 PM,  $130

Art History and Studio Art: French Impressionism with Debbie Dirckx-Norris ~ Imagine a French atelier or a New York loft. Through the magic of technology, we'll study the motivations and techniques of famous artists, past and present. Their works and methods will become the inspiration for our own works of art. Class time will be divided between academic discovery and studio art production. Thursdays, 11/1 and 11/8, 6:00 - 8:30 PM,  $65 OR Fridays, 11/16 - 12/ 21, 1:00 - 2:30 PM,  $115

 

 

CREATIVITY ADULT WORKSHOPS 

These workshops are a creative night out for friends or couples and a great opportunity to try a new form of art! No previous art experience necessary! Basic and specific instruction is given with guided assistance, and all supplies are included. Feel free to bring your beverage of choice! 
 
Clay Critters with Phyllis Schulte ~ Create clay bugs, butterflies and other critters for your garden! Basic handbuilding  will be taught while you create multiple pieces the first week and glaze all of the pieces the second week.  Tuesdays, August 21 and August 28, 10:00 - 11:30 AM, $50
 
Wheel Throwing with Phyllis Schulte ~ This workshop is a great way to learn the basic techniques in creating a bowl on the pottery wheel. Great for curious students as well as date nights, girls’ night out, etc. Come ready to get messy. Each participant will have their own wheel and create 2-3 pieces. We will do the glazing for you!  Tuesday, 9/11 OR 9/25, 9:30 – 11:30 AM, or Friday, 9/14, 6:30 – 9:00 PM $40
 
Sgraffito Vase with Phyllis Schulte ~ Learn the art of sgraffito – the process of scratching through the surface of a glaze layer in order to reveal the contrasting color of the clay. Vases will be premade – the focus of this workshop is on the design process and carving techniques. Tuesday, 10/9, 6:30 - 8:30 PM, $45
 
Painting a Pet in Watercolor with Linda Wilmes ~ Using watercolor, students will bring a picture of their pet and discover the beauty of this medium to capture their pet's character and beauty.   For the more seasoned watercolorist. Friday, 10/19, 6:30 – 9:00 PM,  $35
 
Doodling ~Need a creative release? Come and doodle the night away! Various techniques and inspiration will be discussed throughout the evening as students design a unique piece.  Friday, 11/16, 10:00 – 11:30 AM, $25

Abstract Florals with Linda Wilmes  ~   A fun class for the beginning or seasoned watercolorist.   This class will explain how to create an abstract from flower subjects and where to crop a reference photo to find an abstract design from flowers.  Using this perfect medium, students will discover the many beautiful color combinations, which develop on the paper during the painting processFriday, 11/9, 6:30 – 9:00 PM, $35
