Our adult classes are designed to meet the needs of the students where they are  ~ from beginner to advanced, our instructors tailor the classes to each participant and their specific goals, while teaching them a variety of skills and techniques.

2017 ADULT CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

 

Pottery with Heather Woodson  ~  This pottery class will explore both hand building and wheel throwing techniques for beginners through advanced students. Your instructor will determine where you are in the learning process and help guide you through projects of your choice. The classes are scheduled as follows: 
Mondays, 8/7 - 8/28, 6:00 - 8:30 PM, 4-week session, $125  
Mondays, 9/11-10/23, 6:00-8:30 PM, 7-week session, $215  
Mondays, 11/6-12/18, 6:00-8:30 PM , 7-week session, $215

Figure Drawing with Debbie Dirckx-Norris ~ Each week, our model will be clothed in a different, themed attire. Basic drawing supplies provided. Students may also bring their own materials. Mondays, 8/7 - 8/28, 6:30 - 8:30 PM, $125

Pressed Platters with Phyllis Schulte ~ This clay workshop will focus on hand building with color and textures to create beautiful dishes and platters. Tuesdays, 8/22 and 8/27, 10:00 - 11:30 AM, $55

Painting Water in Watercolors with Linda Wilmes ~ Learn to paint still water and reflections, water cascading over rocks, crashing waves and a waterfall. Mvement is achieved by the amount of water used, adding action and excitement to the painting. Mondays, 10/23-11/13, 6:00-8:30 pm, $125.

 

Color Schemes in Watercolors ~ Explore a variety of color combinations including complimentary, split complimentary, analogous and more! By allowing the color to mix on the wet paper to create wonderful neutralized areas, students will then apply the selected bright hues for contrast. Color temperature will also be explained and explored through various subjects.  Tuesdays, 10/17-11/7, 9:30am-noon, $125.

Drawing with Debbie Dirckx-Norris ~ Students will learn a variety of drawing techniques using pencil, charcoal and ink and they explore subject matter ranging from still life to linear perspective. Tuesdays, 11/7-11/28, 1:30 - 3:30 PM, $125

"COCKTAILS AND CREATIVITY" ADULT WORKSHOPS - The following workshops are a creative night out for friends or couples and a great opportunity to try a new form of art! No previous art experience necessary! Basic and specific instruction is given with guided assistance. Art Unleashed provides alcoholic beverages and light snacks. A different project will be completed each workshop. Fee: $45/each

Metal Tooling with Paula Seim ~ Create a unique piece of artwork on foil using embossing, tooling, repousse or overlay techniques. Guided instruction provided to create a pleasing abstract design. Repeated textural patterns, shapes, and lines are easily incised. A finish of India ink brings depth and definition to the design. No previous art experience necessary.  Wed, Aug 16, 6:30-9:00 PM

 

Watercolors with Linda Wilmes ~ Learn various watercolor techniques while creating a painting ready for display! Friday, August 25, 6:30-9:00 PM      

   

 

Upcycled Felted Wool Trivets with Marianne Baer ~ Using remnants of felted wool, make a unique trivet or table runner, handsewing with wool yarn. Thursday, 9/14, 1:00 - 3:30 PM   

 

Mixed Media Collage with Paula Seim ~ Create a unique collage on canvas using a variety of materials and techniques. A simple color blend of acrylic paint is applied first. Then papers are cut, torn, and layered; then collaged onto the canvas. Stamping and stenciling techniques are used to embellish the completed artwork. Friday, 9/15, 6:00 - 8:30 PM,

 

Clay Jewelry with Heather Woodson ~ Create unique earrings and pendants out of clay! Friday, 9/29, 6:30 - 8:00 PM, $35

Mosaic Scarves with Marianne Baer ~ Using remnants of felted wool and cashmere, make a scarf by handsewing with wool yarn. Friday, 10/27, 6:00 -8:30 PM

 

 

Painting Clouds with Linda Wilmes ~ Paint rolling clouds with a sunset using watercolors. Friday, 11/3, 6:00 - 8:30 PM

Hard and Soft Edges in Watercolor with Linda Wilmes ~ Learn how to soften edges for depth in the painting and sharpen edges for emphasis on the foreground. Friday, 12/8, 6:00 - 8:30 PM
