 The 13 - 18 year old classes are designed to cultivate creativity, encourage artistic growth and improve the ability to express themselves in the visual arts, while continuing to build on skills previously acquired.                                                                            



Fall 2018 Art Classes for 13 - 18 year olds

Figure Drawing and Painting – Learn basic drawing techniques and proportions for depicting a realistic human figure. Create gesture drawings, examine and draw bones, as well as draw and paint the figure from a live clothed model. Thursdays, 9/6-10/4, 6:00 – 7:30 PM, $115

Wheel Throwing- Are you ready to get your hands dirty? Patience and a high tolerance for messy hands is a must for learning this fun way to create pottery. Students will learn the basic steps for creating bowls and cups on the pottery wheel. Thursdays, 10/11-11/8, 6:30 – 8:00 PM, $120

Abstraction Dive into the world of abstract art and be inspired by artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Mark Rothko and Paul Klee. Students will create their own pieces inspired by these artists, as well as create their own abstract work. Two-dimensional pieces will be created using a variety of materials including watercolor, acrylics, pastels and more! Wednesdays, 11/21-12/19, 6:00 – 7:30 PM, $115


ONE-DAY WORKSHOPS for 6th-12th grades

Black Light Painting ~ A fun way to spend a night with friends! Classroom will be lit up with black lights, and students will use fluorescent and glow-in-the-dark paint to create a painting of their choice! Friday, 9/14, 6:30 – 8:00 PM, $25

Wheel Throwing~ Always wanted to try your hand at the potter's wheel? Learn how to create small bowls during this one day session! Saturday, 10/27, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM, $30

Abstract Painting ~ Grab some friends and join us where an instructor will lead students through a step by step process to create a unique painting. Saturday, 11/17, 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM, $25

Holiday Card Doodles ~ Doodle the night away while creating unique holdiay cards! Friday, 11/30, 6:30 – 8:30 PM, $25
